BBC World In First Programme Sponsorship
Air Canada has signed the first programme sponsorship contract with BBC World; it is to take front and end breaks on the Naked Hollywood programmes. The first episode airs this weekend, Sunday 18 February, at 2105 CET. BBC World is the advertising funded 24-hour international news and information channel for Europe.
Naked Hollywood looks behind the fantasy of Hollywood; the five part programme charts the complex power struggle between studio bosses, agents, directors, producers, stars and writers.
Hugh Williams, Director of Broadcasting for BBC Worldwide Television, says, “It is a compliment to the quality of BBC programmes that a blue-chip company like Air Canada wish to be associated with them. I hope that this will be the first of many similar deals.”
Airtime sales for BBC World in Continental Europe are handled exclusively by IP Network-TSMS. BBC World, in its first year of broadcasting to Europe, now reaches 15.5 million homes.
