BBC Worldwide is extending its portfolio of pre-teen titles with the launch of a new magazine called Disney’s Explorer on the back of an autumn Disney movie release.
The 32-page title, which is aimed at children aged between 7 and 10, goes on sale on 25 September and has been designed to appeal to those interested in exploration and discovery. The magazine will be marketed through in-store activity and will be promoted in schools.
Commenting on the launch, the magazine’s publishing director, Toni Round, said: “Disney’s Explorer is an exciting title and combined with our other regular Disney titles is part of an impressive pre-teen portfolio.”
Earlier this year, BBC Worldwide launched Disney Girl and Disney Comic for children aged between seven and nine. The company, which is the UK’s biggest publisher of children’s magazines, promoted both titles with a six-figure marketing campaign (see BBC Worldwide Unveils New Children’s Magazines).
