BBC1 Voted Best For Drama

According to CIA MediaLab’s Sensor survey, BBC1 drama programmes are a favourite among viewers.

When asked which television channel broadcasts the best drama shows, 35% said BBC1. ITV came second with 29% followed by BBC2 (15%), Channel 4 (11%), Sky one (4%) and the Family Channel (1%).

CIA found that viewing preferences vary with age. Almost half (46%) of 45-54 year olds put BBC1’s drama programmes at the top of the chart compared with just 18% preferring ITV’s shows. ITV is the most popular among the 25-34 age group, where 39% of respondents prefer its shows compared to 27% that prefer BBC1. The 15-24 year old age group is divided between preferring BBC1 (33%) or ITV (34%), but this group is three times as likely as average (11%) to vote for Sky One’s Drama.
