BBC is to relaunch its motoring magazine, Top Gear, to coincide with the show’s return to BBC2.
The magazine has undergone a complete overhaul, with new design and added content. It also features a new 20-page section containing news, sport, humour and writing from broadcaster and columnist Jeremy Clarkson.
Clarkson has signed a new contract with the magazine and will contribute even more to the title, which features extensive research and testing of new cars.
Top Gear‘s website will also be redesigned to support the new-look magazine and TV series. It will contain an extended road test library and database of new and used car data.
Analysis of Top Gear’s circulation over the past 5 years shows that the title has been in the process of a gradual decline from its peak in January to June 1999. The latest ABC figures for the first half of 2002 show that the magazine saw circulation fall by 10.3% year on year to 150,747, down from 168,086 in the same period the previous year.
