BBH And Leo Burnett Forge Global Deal
Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) has completed a deal with Leo Burnett in a move to develop the BBH brand internationally. BBH’s planning is conducted by its media arm Motive; the overseas buying, however, often required a third party, said a company spokesperson. The deal with Burnetts will provide a resource for extending international buying.
To allow the deal to go ahead Burnetts had to become shareholders in BBH and will take a maximum stake of 49% over the next two years. A statement by BBH, however, categorically rules out the possibility of Leo Burnett ever taking a majority stake in the company. It also stresses that both partners will continue to run completely independently of one another and that the link with Leo Burnett will simply allow a ‘better all round service’.
BBH’s current clients include Levi-Strauss, Audi and Whitbread Beer Company and the company is intending to open an office in the US next year.
