Beeb Appoints Sales And Marketing Director

The BBC’s commercial internet venture, beeb, has appointed David Atter, the former marketing manager behind the Tango ads, to the newly-created post of sales and marketing director. Atter moves from his current position, as director of marketing at Turner Entertainment Networks International, in March.

Rupert Miles, director at beeb, said: “David’s marketing experience in the FMCG market is second to none… His mainstream marketing background makes David the ideal person to lead beeb’s assault on the broad consumer market now accessing the internet.”

The beeb operation is responsible for bringing many of the Corporation’s well-known programme brands to the internet. It currently has sites for Top Gear, Tomorrow’s World and Top Of The Pops, amongst others.
