Bells On The Box
United Distillers is to advertise its Bell’s 8-year old blend of whisky for the first time on television this evening. Bell’s is the second spirit to use TV after Virgin Vodka’s one off ad in June.
The Bell’s ad, produced by WCRS, will be screened on Granada, all Scottish TV Regions, Channel 4 in Scotland and Ulster. The new commercial includes a 40 and 60 second ad for TV and cinema as well as posters. Bells has issued a statement outlining the restrictions they will observe with regard to TV and radio advertising; these include that ads should not suggest regular solitary drinking, nor depict alcohol as glamorous.
Bells has also signed up the first ever TV sponsorship by a whisky brand – ‘A Game of Two Halves’, a new football quiz show on Scottish TV.
