BIB Appoints Marketing And Sales Directors

British Interactive Broadcasting has strengthened its commercial team with the appointment of Nick Mercer as marketing director and Simon Jones as sales director. Mercer joins BIB from First Direct where he was business development director; Jones moves from LineOne where he was commercial sales director. Both will report to BIB’s commercial director Chris Townsend.

BIB is joint venture between BSkyB, BT, Midland and Matsushita (Panasonic) and is set to provide an interactive platform that will enable High Street businesses to offer interactive services. The service is planning to launch in summer 1998.
