Big Brother Tops BBC And ITV With 3.3 Million Viewers

Big Brother 9 Channel 4’s Big Brother pulled in nearly 3.3 million peak viewers last night, ahead of BBC One’s Colin Jackson – The Making of Me and ITV1’s Harley Street.

The daily round-up of events from the Big Brother house, which saw Maysoon leaving and the housemates failing their weekly shopping task, gained an average 14.8% audience share between 9pm and 10pm.

Big Brother’s peak audience came in at just under 3.3 million viewers at 9.30pm, while ITV1’s Harley Street only attracted an average of 3.1 million viewers during the hour-long episode.

The ITV1 glossy medical drama has yet to impress audiences, only managing to pull in 2.8 million viewers last week (see Harley Street Failed To Impress Again With 2.8 Million Viewers).

BBC One’s Colin Jackson – The Making of Me, which attempted to determine the secret behind Jackson’s successful sporting career, attracted just under 2.8 million viewers between 9pm and 10pm.

The second episode of the three part series gained a 13.3% audience share, with a peak audience of 3 million viewers in the last 15 minutes of the programme.

Elsewhere, BBC Two’s Mock the Week with Michael McIntyre and Mark Watson picked up an average 2.9 million viewers, just topping BBC One between 9pm and 10pm.
