Black Newspaper To Launch

According to the Sunday Business, yet another newspaper is to hit the newsstands. The Weekly Journal is relaunching under new ownership; previously owned by the Voice Group, the Journal will be aimed at black professionals as an upmarket alternative to The Voice.

The Journal has been bought by a private consortium of black businessmen and women and will be run by former editor Isabel Appio. The paper hopes to be more attractive to advertisers and readers than its earlier run. The title was closed before because of the way it was handled by previous owners, not from lack of interest, according to the Sunday Business article.
