Blake’s 7 to be remade for Xbox Live

Microsoft is to fund the remake of Blake’s 7 for its Xbox Live service.

The cult classic, which ran on BBC1 between 1978 and 1981, is part of Microsoft’s latest move to invest in original TV programming ahead of the launch of the new Xbox One console.

Earlier this year, it was also announced that Microsoft will be partnering with Steven Spielberg to create a live TV series for Xbox based on the popular game Halo.

Once on sale, Microsoft will be looking to position the new console as an ‘entertainment hub’ for the living room, and not just for video gaming.
