Bloomberg Considering Financial Newspaper Launch

Michael Bloomberg, owner of the financial information system of the same name, is said to be considering the launch of a business newspaper in the UK.

In interviews given to the FT and the Independent On Sunday on the back of his new autobiography, Bloomberg by Bloomberg, he says that the launch of a mid-market business and financial paper in the vein of the Daily Mail and aimed at City workers rather than chief executives could be a success.

While maintaining that a launch is not imminent it appears that Bloomberg is certainly considering the possibility. The fact that his company supplies financial news to the Independent On Sunday has fired rumours that he may form a partnership with either the Mirror Group or Independent Newspapers, under whose auspices a launch could take place.
