BlowUp Signs Deal With Thistle Hotels

BlowUp Media has signed a deal with Thistle Hotels allowing it to use the group’s properties as giant advertising sites.

The three-year contract covers all of Thistle’s 56 properties in the UK, providing BlowUp with the same number of sites. BlowUp will be responsible for installing and maintaining the posters and Thistle will receive a percentage of the revenue generated.

BlowUp Media’s managing director, Mark Bracey, said: “This gives us an opportunity to expand our business across the UK. It is a great display of confidence by Thistle, which recognises the benefits giant posters can bring to their bottom line.”

BlowUp recently launched a giant sites package allowing advertisers to plan “intensive burst” campaigns in London’s financial district (see BlowUp Launches First Giant Sites Package). Jonathan Tasker, the company’s sales director, said that the acquisition of more sites in the UK marks a move by the company to: “Convince advertisers that giant posters are a mainstream outdoor medium rather than a vehicle for one-off stunts.”

Earlier this month rival giant site contractor Mega Profile signed a similar agreement with Littlewoods allowing it to install and sell giant posters across 350 sites owned by the retail chain (see Mega Profile Signs Littlewoods Deal).
