BMRB Survey In Favour Of Internet Sites

Further to a recent BMRB survey *(BMRB Assesses Net Awareness), the Internet Monitor found the following results:

  • 64% of Internet users are under 35 with 79% of these being ABC1 males (79%). In addition to this, 26% are frequent users, over 25, work full-time and have access to the Internet at both home and work.
  • 37% only browse the Web and access it less than once a month. These comprise of younger users aged 15-24 who tend to surf at school or college, or in other households.
  • 47% of users view web sites for entertainment. 78% feel a good site improves corporate image. 77% believe that companies have to work harder to keep people interested in their sites.
  • 77% do not like slow downloads and 75% move onto other sites if access takes longer than 2-3 minutes.
  • 49% of users visit newspaper and magazine sites.
