Border Interim Results

Border Television has announced its financial results for the six months to October 31st 1996. Pre tax profits rose to £1.52m in 1996 from £1.1m in 1995 (this is a rise of 37%). Net profits rose to £0.95m from £0.69m in 1995.

The good results have been attributed to the growth of television advertising revenues (4%) and the fact that viewing figures for the station continue to outperform the ITV average. Border’s subsidiary Century Radio has also continued to improve its audience figures and this has brought in higher advertising revenues.
