Border Television Results
Border Television has announced results for the year ending 30th April 1995; Group profits before tax for the television and radio operations rose to £1.933 million (1994: £1.641 million) an increase of 17.8% year on year.
Television advertising revenue for the year increased by 16%, ahead of the 9 per cent increase by ITV as a whole. The principal contributing factor was a change in the strengthening of sales arrangements with Granada Television and Laser sales from 1st January 1994, said the chairman, Melvin Bragg.
As a result of the company’s review of their radio investments, they sold the minority shareholdings in both Central Scotland RAdio Ltd and Bay Radio; this provided a net profit of £0.291 million. Century Radio, a wholly owned subsidiary of Border TV is expected to contribute to profits by the end of the year. Border also said e monitoring developments in the radio sector, to take advantage of any opportunities which might arise.
Border predicts modest growth in advertising renue, with similar costs to those experienced in 1994.
Bord also announced it is seeking full listing f its shares following the publication of the Annual Report and Accounts.
