Border TV Reports Turnover Of £9.46 Million

Border TV has released its interim results, showing a growth in its TV sales and radio. The group made a total turnover of £9.46 million, a rise of 22% from last year.

Earnings per share adjusted for operational set up costs are at 8.8p for 1998 and regional advertising sales grew by 18% but the group said that although recent weeks had seen continuing growth in advertising income there were some signs in a slowdown of TV revenues.

The company made an operating profit of £1.57 million some of which it used to invest in its newest and largest radio station, Century 105.

Jim Graham, chairman of Border TV, commented on the results: “Our investment in radio is really starting to show results. Turnover from radio has grown substantially since 1997 as a result of our expansion of our Century Radio brand.
