Box To Launch Sister Channel
The Box, EMAP’s cable music TV channel, has announced today that it is to launch a new music channel on cable and satellite called Magic.
Due to launch in Spring 1998, Magic will cater for the 25-44 age group – an older audience than the Box’s current audience of 12-35 year olds. It will focus on new and established album artists who “transcend the current singles chart.”
The new channel will incorporate the interactive element of the Box by using digital technology, carrying a library of music videos from which viewers can control the videos they want to see.
