Bravo Expands Portfolio With Top-Rating US Dramas

Bravo Cable and satellite television channel Bravo has expanded its portfolio by introducing big-budget US dramas, securing exclusive rights to episodes of Blade: The Series and The Unit to premiere in the autumn.

Blade: The Series, from executive producer Avi Arad (the X-Men and Spiderman films), promises to satisfy male TV appetites as a blood-drenched, action-packed saga with thrilling special effects and an intelligent and creative plot.

Hailed by Rolling Stone magazine as “TV’s best new show”, David Mamet and Shawn Ryan have produced The Unit, which focuses on a covert team of special forces operatives as they risk their lives carrying out top-secret missions around the globe.

One of the stars of 24, Dennis Haysbert, is cast as the team leader, as the soldiers create an unbreakable brotherhood, whilst their families live with the fear that the men may never return.

Jonathan Webb, director of programmes at Bravo, Trouble Challenge and Player said: “We are delighted to have snapped up two more US dramas jam-packed with thrilling action and custom-made for our male target audience.”
