Bright Station Ups Revenue But Still Makes Loss In Third Quarter

Bright Station, the internet and e-commerce solutions business, has released its interim results for the third quarter of this year, revealing a pre-tax loss of £4.6m. However, the company has also reported a rise in revenue of 89% compared to the same quarter last year, as the figure reached £2.4m. This is up 23% compared to Q2 of this year.

The company claims that the losses have been due to investment in the growth of underlying businesses. Strategic investment for this quarter has been concentrated on businesses including technology news service Netimperative and the Schoolsforschools e-procurement service, which allows schools to purchase supplies at reduced cost.

The company describes its cash position as ‘sound’ and says that core businesses are now “proactively marketing their products and services.” As a result, continued progress is expected during the final quarter of this year.
