Britain Gets Viewers

Signature The first semi final of Britain’s Got Talent proved to be a big hit with the viewers, making ITV1 the most watched channel last night.

Nearly 10 million adults tuned in to see dance act Signature as well as Kate Nicholas and her dog Gin make it through to the final. An average of 9.7 million adults watched the 90-minute show, with viewing peaking at 10.6 million between 10.00pm and 10.15pm.

Over on BBC1 one-off crime drama Kiss of Death trailed in the wake of the talent show ratings juggernaut, with a fairly lacklustre 3.5 million viewers

Elsewhere a tribute programme celebrating Emmerdale‘s 5000th pulled in 3.1 million viewers, with the regular edition that followed attracting 6.6 million.

The return of The Inspector Lynley Mysteries on Sunday lost out in the ratings battle with Heartbeat, but proved to be more popular than Ultimate Force. The BBC1 crime drama watched watched by 4.6 million adults, while ITV1’s two dramas pulled in 5.4 million and 3.6 million respectively.
