A hardcore pornographic television channel for homosexuals is to be beamed into Britain later this year. The station, Gay TV, will be transmitted by satellite from the Continent. Gay TV is due to start transmissions from March 20. It will be launched by Mark Garner, the business man behind Red Hot Television.
In order to try and halt transmission, the authorities could ban advertising on the station or ban the sale of decoder cards, but it could take nine months to introduce these sanctions. In the long term, once television becomes international, it will be impossible to prevent stations coming from abroad.
