Brixton Finishing School unveils fundraising silent auction
Brixton Finishing School, along with sister charity The Finishing School Foundation, have launched their first-ever silent auction and raffle.
Funds raised from the campaign will cover the living expenses of prospective and current participants of the organisation’s eight-week summer school, which champions talent not currently in education, employment or training.
Items available in the auction include a Cannes Lions cMBA course, an hour of “feral strategy” with Saatchi & Saatchi London chair Richard Huntington, Ray-Ban Meta sunglasses, a stay in Norfolk and National Theatre tickets, among others.
The auction will be open until 18 August and is accessible here.
“The industry continues to struggle to onboard socially mobile talent with fresh ideas and different viewpoints,” said Ally Owens, founder of Brixton Finishing School. “At the same time, the need for financial support among our talent has only grown.
“Now is the time to unite, stay loud and keep the door open for diverse talent — not shut it.”
The 51 participants in the current initiative have already undertaken workplace experience at companies including The Trade Desk, Bauer Media and Uncommon Creative Studio. Placements at organisations including Channel 4, Mail Metro Media and JCDecaux are still to come.
