The UK broadband cable universe reached 2˝ million homes and 5 million individuals in March 1998 according to industry and ITC research conducted by RSMB TV. This represents a 15% growth since September 1997.
The growth of cable continues to exceed the rate of growth for direct to home (DTH, ie. satellite), and cable homes now account for 38% of all multi-channel homes, according to the research. The data also shows that cable homes, on average, have more individuals per home – 2.82 compared with a national average of 2.39.
