BSkyB and Cable & Wireless have finally confirmed the speculation of a joint pay-per-view (PPV) project (subscribers see Cable Consortium Forging Second PPV Deal). The two companies are to co-operate on the launch of BSkyB’s digital television services next Spring. The deal will see BSkyB providing C&W’s analog and digital systems with its PPV service.
This deal quashes any possibility of C&W joining On Demand Management, the cable consortium headed by Telewest and effectively competing against BSkyB.
