Under the deal. FTyourmoney, the personal finance channel of FT.com, will create a tailored personal finance site for Sky News Online. The site, called yourmoney will allow Sky users to access information on a range of personal finance topics and FTyourmoney interactive features and calculators.
Head of Sky News interactive, Steve Bennedik, said: “This new partnership brings together two of the most respected global media brands. The Sky News yourmoney site will provide our users with an invaluable, accessible service at a time of year when many consumers are reassessing their finances.”
The deal comes at a time when media owners are exploring ways of generating revenue from users by implementing charges for premium content. News International introduced charges for websites of the Times and the Sunday Times (see Times Online To Charge Users) in July and the Telegraph and the Guardian are also said to be considering similar options.
