BSkyB In Talks To Buy Football Stakes

Satellite broadcaster, BSkyB, is reported to be in negotiations to acquire stakes in both Leeds and Chelsea football clubs.

Under new FA guidelines, which limit media companies to less than a 10% stake in each club if they have interests in more than one club, Sky is expected to be negotiating for 9.9% in each. BSkyB would also have to reduce its interest in Manchester United which currently stands at 11.1%.

A BSkyB spokesperson refused to comment when called by Newsline.
