British Sky Broadcasting has made its first £50m payment to its shareholders. The payment was the first return on a total of £1.6bn invested in the project so far. Operating profit had reached £3m a week by the end of November, but the figure for the full half year is not yet released. Richard Brooke, finance director said that the move to charge for BSKyB’s channels had been a success .
