BT Openworld is to sponsor the first issue of the Guardian‘s revamped small business supplement for an undisclosed sum.
The newspaper is relaunching and increasing the frequency of the tabloid section, which from tomorrow will be called Business Solutions. The new look magazine carries the strapline “Smart Business for SMEs” (small to medium businesses) and will be published on the last Thursday of every month.
The first issue of the 20-page supplement, which was originally launched in November 2000 as Small Business Solutions, will contain an in-depth exploration of broadband and its application to small and medium businesses and will be promoted in the main section of the Guardian and online via Guardian Unlimited.
Stuart Taylor, advertising director ofGuardian Newspapers, said: “Small to medium sized businesses are an important area for us. This new supplement will meet the needs of our readers and offer a unique advertising platform for many businesses and services in this area.”
According to the latest ABC results, the Guardian had a circulation of 406,875 in the six month period ending March 2002, an increase of 2.1% on the same period last year.
