BT Top Spending Brand For August
Register Meal data for August shows that BT was the highest spending brand for the month, spending over £3m on television. £2.84m was spent on ITV, with the remainder on Channel 4. Of the top ten television spenders, Allied Dunbar at number ten, spent the most on satellite, £130,000. Sainsburys was the highest spending brand on television in July, with over £4m, BT was in second place.
The biggest spender in radio for August was Coca Cola, with £767,000; over £200,000 more than it spent in July. The gap between Coca Cola and the other radio users in August was a large £400,000; Kleenex Velvet Toilet Tissue spent £357,000. The biggest spender in July was McDonalds, with £522,000; this month it spent £291,000.
The biggest user of national press in August was Currys Store, as was also the case in July, with over £2m. Top ten brands for the national press in August were all either DIY stores or cars, with just one other entry, B&H. B&H was also the second highest spender among consumer magazines, with £350,000, behind Bernard Matthews Cooked Meats Range. Bernard Matthews was also the biggest consumer spender in July.
Regional spend was dominated by Halifax Property Services in August, at over £1m, double the spend of the next highest user, General Accident Property. In Cinema, Sky Broadcasting spent double (£644,000) any of the other top users; these being mainly drinks brands. For the first time this year, outdoor data has been released, with top spending brand Smirnoff Vodka with £883,000. The Daily Mail & Mail on Sunday spent £615,000. Other outdoor data for the year is expected soon.
