BT is launching a new film subscription service, doubling the number of on-demand films it currently offers BT Vision subscribers.

Over 60 films will be available to choose from each month on BT Vision Film Club, with 14 films refreshed every week.

The new service brings together offerings from major Hollywood studios, including Sony Pictures Television, Picturebox, WarnerFilms and Fim4OD.

Subscriptions start at £6.99 a month or as an option within BT Vision’s Bronze, Silver and Gold viewing packages.

Alternatively customers can choose to subscribe to Picturebox or WarnerFilms alone for £4.99 per month each.

Virgin Media recently launched an online movies service, letting users stream films directly to laptops, PCs and TVs. Users of the Virgin Media film service do not have to be existing Virgin Media customers.

Marc Watson, chief executive of BT Vision, said: “We already have an extensive catalogue of over 600 films available in the UK courtesy of our long-term deals with the major Hollywood studios.

“Now our Value Pack film subscribers will have an even wider choice of titles each week for no extra charge.

“All of our films are available on-demand, so you won’t have to fit in with a broadcaster’s schedule or miss the first part of the film. You can start it when you are ready and pause or rewind the film whenever you want.”
