Bush Tucker Trials Lure 6.4 Million

Witchetty Grubs Last night’s jungle antics on ITV1 saw an upturn in viewers watching the programme, compared to the previous night, with an average of almost 6.4 million adults tuning in to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The programme, which saw contestants having to devour a series of disgusting creatures from the bush – such as witchetty grubs and crocodile penis – gave the channel a 28.8% viewing share between 9pm and 10pm.

An average of 5.8 million adults had watched the show the night before (see 5.8 Million Stick With I’m A Celebrity…).

Over on BBC One, a rather more tasteful flora and fauna programme, Alan Titchmarsh’s The Nature of Britain, was enjoyed by almost 4.4 million – a 19.7% share for the channel.

Meanwhile, this week’s Secret Millionaire on Channel 4, followed Chek Whyte, one of the richest men in England, who went undercover to live anonymously as part of a poor community before revealing who he really was, and giving money to those who he thought most deserved it.

More than three million adults stuck with the programme, giving C4 a 13.8% share in the timeslot. Earlier on the channel, Gok Wan’s return in How To Look Good Naked, attracted 3.1 million (14.3%) to the makeover series.

On at the same time, over on ITV1, was The Bill, which gained more than 5.2 million viewers on average, taking a 24.4% share between 8pm and 9pm.

Previously, Coronation Street was seen by 9.1 million adults, giving ITV1 a 44.4% share.
