Business Information Publishers Emerge
On July 11, the British Business Press became Business Information Publishers (BIP). The new title has been adopted because of the increasing growth of on-line services, electronic products, exhibitions, printed directories and database marketing, in the business magazine publishing industry.
In the Media Convergence And The Business Press report earlier this year, it was found that many business publishers see themselves as business information providers.
Denis Conlon of Miller Freeman said: “This will be an important development in business communications. There many important issues to be addressed ranging from government legislation to the need to differentiate the integrity of professional third-party information froviders.”
