Channel 4 is in advanced talks with YouTube to agree a deal that would see most of its content hosted on the video-sharing website.

The two parties are thought to be close to signing a contract that would be the first partnership of its kind to involve a British broadcaster.

Viewers will be able to view Channel 4 programmes in full for a catch-up period of 30 days on YouTube.

If the deal goes ahead, Channel 4 will sell its own advertising around C4 content on the site, however, revenue will be shared with YouTube.

According to reports, YouTube would expect at least 30% of the advertising revenue from the deal.
