C4 Successful Soap Weekend – Viewing Summary

Channel 4’s Soap weekend (2-3rd December) has helped the channel to gain a 0.5% share of viewing. The most popular of the programmes featured during the weekend was The Real Coronation Street which attracted 3.31million viewers. The soaps that gained most attention were a classic episode of Coronation Street from the Sixties shown on the Sunday which had 2.48 million viewers, Scott and Charlene’s marriage in Neighbours shown on the Saturday which was watched by 2.12 million and Eastenders christmas episode from 1986 which had 1.96 million viewers.

In terms of hours and minutes spent watching television, individuals 4 plus watched an extra 4 minutes this week when compared to the same week last year, this is a percentage increase of 0.2.

Of all the channels shown in Astra Panel homes ITV has performed the best, increasing on its previous week’s viewing of 7 hours 44 minutes to 7 hours and 57 minutes.
