C5 Achieves Over 4% Viewing Share For Q2 1998

The latest IPA Trends in Television Viewing Report covering the second quarter of 1998 shows a slight year-on-year growth in overall television viewing levels (up 1.5%).

For the first time Channel 5 has captured an audience share in excess of 4% for a full quarter time period.

The analysis of ITV’s performance against the targets set by its new management team, shows a fall in ITV’s share this quarter. However the poor performance of BBC1 has resulted in an increase in ITV’s peak time share over BBC1.
