Cabal Communications is to launch a one shot spin-off from its home interest title The Real Homes Magazine, called The Real Makeover Magazine. The magazine, launched on 14 March with a cover price of £2.50, will have a print run of 180,000 and Cabal expect a large proportion of sales to come from readers of Real Homes.
Real Homes editor, Sarah Bravo, said: “[Our readers] consistently told us how much they loved the makeover section of the magazine- so the Real Makeover Magazine was a natural progression.”
Since its launch in 1998, Real Homes has been a success story for the fledgling publishing company (see Cabal Reveals Real Homes Details). Its circulation in the latest set of ABC results reached 141,609 (see ABC Jul – Dec 2001 Home Interest Magazines), representing both a year on year and a period on period increase at a time when the market has been feeling the squeeze.
Publisher Caroline Morrow said that while the title was planned as a one-off, they would look at doing it again if successful. She added that this was the first of a series of special editions planned from Real Homes.
