Cabal Reveals Real Homes Details

New Publisher, Cabal Communications, has unveiled the details of its home interest launch, The Real Homes Magazine. The title will launch on 15 October alongside the male lifestyle mag, front (see Cabal Front Up With A New Title), and will be edited by ex-Living etc editor, Sarah Bravo.

It will target ABC1 (C2) women, aged between 25 and 44, who have, “an interest, but not necessarily an obsession, with homes.” Suzanne Imre, freelance writer for The Guardian and Maxim, will be the title’s deputy editor. Cabal’s five-strong advertising sales team will be headed by commercial director, Helen Brocklebank, formerly of NatMags.

Sally O’Sullivan, chief executive at Cabal, says: “The Real Homes Magazine is less staid and middle class than the bulk of the competition without embracing the frenetic DIY frenzy of the younger titles. It has a far more realistic and entertaining approach, which will appeal to its mass market audience.”

Both of the magazine launches will be supported by national and regional PR and marketing campaigns. The first issue of The Real Homes Magazine will have a print run 400,000 and a promotional price of 80p; subsequent issues will cost £1.60, and have an expected settle-down circulation of around 150,000.
