Cable Penetration Virtually Doubles Over Two Years
BARB dish and cable penetration estimates for the past three months see an increase over the period for cable of nearly 5%, for dish sales of almost 1%, and an overall increase in total penetration of 2.1%.

September 1996 figures show that cable penetration has increased by 35.8% on September 1995, and a massive 94.3% on September 1994 – moving from 847,000 in 1994 to 1,646,000 in 1996. This compares to dishes where over the two year period figures have only increased by 28.5%. Cable penetration in September 1996 accounts for 31.0% of total penetration, compared to 22.7% in the same period in 1994.
