CableTel Considering UK Flotation

CableTel is considering floating on the London Stock Exchange this year. Mr Barclay Knapp, president of the Nasdaq quoted company, said a London listing was “under active consideration” after the flotation of the company in the US.
CableTel, with cable interests in Glasgow, West Yorkshire, Guildford and Cardiff recently raised $315m (£201m) before expenses, through two offers. The cash will be used to develop what will be the largest franchise, Northern Ireland, if it wins the licence.
CableTel bid £14.5m for the franchise and plans to cable 428,000 of the provinces 530,000. It has submitted the highest offer but the Independent Television Commision is still assessing its bid.
