Capital Radio Awarded South Coast Digital Licence

Capital Radio Group has been awarded the digital multiplex service licence for the Sussex coast, which will broadcast stations such as Xfm, Emap’s Kiss and Juice 107.2 to a range of coastal towns in the county

Capital Radio Digital will begin broadcasting from the beginning of next year and will carry a range of different Capital stations, alongside BBC Southern Counties Radio, Southern FM, Saga, Gaydar Radio, Spirit FM, Totally Radio. The licence will initially run for a period of 12 years from the commencement of broadcasting.

Emap Performance recently launched its TV music channel, The Hits, on digital radio in London. The new station, which will take a direct feed from The Hits TV channel, will play a broad range of chart-based music aimed at 15 to 45 year-olds (see Emap Moves The Hits Onto Digital Radio).
