Capital has secured AOL Broadband to sponsor its London Christmas live music event.
AOL is hoping its sponsorship of the 95.8 Capital FM Christmas Live show, will enable it to target the key 25 to 34 year old market. It is also hoped the deal will help AOL emphasise its commitment to music content.
AOL Broadband is to be the sole sponsor of the event and will be active and on air during November and December. It will also have branding at at the event in the huge concert at Earl’s Court on 4 December and a dedicated experiential area.
Commenting on the deal, Blair Schooff, executive director of music for AOL UK and AOL Europe, said: “Associating AOL’s music content with 95.8 Capital FM and its Christmas Live event is an obvious fit, especially as music is a primary motivator for broadband users. We are already seeing enormous interest in AOL Music, with large numbers of members logging on for live sessions and interviews with their favourite artists.”
Capital FM’s Christmas Live will support the station’s Help a London Child charity. Confirmed acts include Sting, Enrique, Texas, Busted and the Sugababes.
Chrysalis Radio Sales recently launched a new sales package to tempt advertisers onto the radio in the capital (see Chrysalis Attempts To Lure Advertisers To London).
