Carlton Appoints Former BBC News Head For Factual Role

Carlton Productions has appointed Richard Clemmow, formerly the BBC’s head of news programmes, as director of factual programmes.
Clemmow will take on the role in mid-summer when he returns from the US, where he is executive in charge of production for the Carlton and Newsweek Productions joint venture. He takes over the role from Polly Bide who is moving to concentrate on international co-productions and to executive produce on other Carlton projects.
Steve Hewlett, director of programmes and managing director of Carlton Productions said he was “delighted” to have attracted someone of this calibre to take on the position.
