Carlton Broadcasting has announced the appointment of Coleena Reid as managing director of its London operations.
Reid, who will continue her existing role as controller of broadcasting for the group, will replace Colin Stanbridge who is leaving later this month to become chief executive of the London Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to joining Carlton Television as controller of broadcasting in 1995, Reid worked as the controller of programme planning at Meridian Television. She has also worked in programme planning at Southern Television.
Reid commented: “Im delighted to be given the opportunity to play a wider role in the London region, while continuing as controller of broadcasting for all the Carlton Channels.”
Carlton is one of the major shareholders in ITV, which is currently searching for both a chief executive and a director of channels. It has been reported that bosses are hoping director of channels, David Liddiment, will perform a u-turn and stay on in his role if Granada and Carlton merge (see Michael Jackson Tipped For ITV’s Top Job).
