Carlton Communications Plc and the film finance and distribution company, Intermedia, have agreed to establish a joint development fund for British films. Carlton Film Distributors is also to merge its international sales operation with Village Intermedia Pictures, a distribution business jointly owned by Intermedia and Australian Village Roadshow.
This will further augment Carlton’s film archive after it bought the Rank film library in April (subscribers see Carlton Buys Rank) and will provide new products for its Digital Terrestrial Television channels.
