Carlton Online Becomes Content Provider For ISPs
Carlton Online has announced two strategic partnerships with the internet service providers CallNet and BusinessServe. Carlton Online, a division of Carlton Communications, produces the websites Jamba.co.uk, Popcorn.co.uk and SimplyFood.co.uk, all of which launched last year (see Newsline). The three websites will boost the content of both CallNet and BusinessServe.
CallNet offers free internet access direct to consumers and co-branded access for third parties to market and promote. The group also develop internet software and produced the [email protected] chip, which allows the sending and receiving of email, home shopping and banking and web browsing via television sets.
Emma Crowe, business development director at Carlton Online commented: “We are delighted to provide content for CallNet via our three Web sites Jamba, Popcorn and SimplyFood. Each site will offer CallNet users an entertaining online experience coupled with utilities such as cinema search.”
BusinessServe is the only UK ISP which provides free internet dialup services for business, and currently has 5,000 subscribers. Patrick Joleys, new products manager, said: “BusinessServe is aimed at the business internet user and company staff. We wanted to provide more than just our normal business content as well as a little light relief and Carlton Online has brought this to businessserve.co.uk.”
