Carlton Online MD Departs To Start Internet Group

Carlton Online is losing its managing director, Carol Dukes, who is leaving the group to establish a new internet business of her own.

Dukes, who has been with Carlton Online for 15 months, commented: “The start up phase of Carlton Online is complete. We’ve built a business with a strong team and award-winning websites. I now want to move on to new ventures and am planning to set up my own business.” Carlton online launched Jamba.co.uk, Simplyfood.co.uk and Popcorn.co.uk last year.

It is not clear exactly what Duke’s new internet venture will involve, but it is understood that the business will be both content and e-commerce based and that it is being backed by venture capital money.

Until a replacement for Dukes is found, Phil Rooke, sales director at Carlton Online, will step in to take her place.
