Carlton Profits Up 33%
Carlton Communications has released results for the interim period to March 31 1994. Pre-tax profits were up 33.25% from £55.12m to £73.44m. These are the first results released since Carlton’s £760m takeover of Central TV in January.
The Broadcast TV section of the group achieved £22.89m profits, compared to only £0.58m in the same period last year. Chairman Michael Green said that advertising revenues had experienced healthy growth, and was optimistic about the rest of the year. Carlton’s share price today however had dropped 35p to 888p at 11am this morning.
