Carphone Warehouse Secures The X Factor Sponsorship

Carphone Warehouse is to sponsor the fifth series of ITV’s talent show The X Factor.

The company sponsored the show last year having previously sponsored Channel 4 show Big Brother.

However, it ended its association with the reality show following the Celebrity Big Brother racism row in January 2007 (see Carphone Warehouse Hangs Up On Big Brother).

The new deal includes broadcasts on ITV1 and ITV2 as well as the X Factor website.

Anna James, Carphone Warehouse marketing director, said: “We are incredibly excited to continue our sponsorship of one of the biggest entertainment shows on television.”

The X Factor returns to ITV this Saturday, with a new panel of judges including Danni Minogue and Cheryl Cole.
