Cartoon Network Launches Radio Show

Turner Broadcasting is launching a radio service based on its Cartoon Network channel for kids. Toon FM will see the channel’s most famous characters, including Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken and I Am Weasel make the transition to radio during the half-term break.

Broadcasting across central London and the north-west under the terms of a restricted services licence, the channel will run for ten days from Friday 22 October to Monday 1 November. It will be simultaneously broadcast via the Cartoon Network website, the first time an RSL has been simulcast on the web.

Programming will consist of 80% music and 20% kids bulletins and shows. New programmes have been devised for the service including Scooby Boogie Doo, Jacket Potato’s Cult Toons and Dexter’s Lab Techno Stabs.
